01 / Philosophy

Our flowers aren't arranged. They're composed.

Each piece begins hours before dawn, at the market, with the season telling us what it wants to become. We follow the stem, not the trend. The result is quiet, sculptural, alive — a small piece of the natural world arranged with the patience of a still life.

We work slowly, in small numbers, from a studio in Durbanville. Every arrangement is composed by hand — no formula, no filler, no repetition. If flowers are a language, our practice is to speak it as clearly, and as softly, as we can.

02 / Collections

Five ways of
seeing a flower.

Ongoing studies, released with the seasons. Each collection is a distinct conversation between petal, gesture, and light.

03 / Studio

Nature is our medium. Flowers are our language.

Flowerheart began as a private practice — a florist's hands, a small studio in Durbanville, and the belief that a bouquet could carry the same weight as a painting.

Twelve years on, our work has grown into weddings, ceremonies, and installations across the Cape. The scale has changed. The intention hasn't.

04 / Process

Three quiet
movements.

There is no shortcut to a good arrangement. Only these three deliberate acts, performed with attention.

Before the light.

Four a.m. at the flower market. We choose slowly, by touch and by season, from growers we've known for years.

Stem by stem.

Every arrangement is composed individually, in the studio, by hand. Never a template. Never a shortcut.

By our hand.

Delivered personally across the Cape, wrapped in linen, and placed with the same care we would want for our own homes.

05 / Weddings
"They didn't decorate our day. They composed it."
— Emma & Jean-Pierre
Franschhoek, 2025

Weddings, held
as a still life.

We take on a small number of weddings each year — quietly, in full. Bouquets, ceremony pieces, table florals, and installations, all composed from the same season and by the same hands.
